CVSS v2.0
9.0
High
| Vector | AV:N/AC:L/Au:S/C:C/I:C/A:C |
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions:
Nagios Fusion versions 4.1.8 and earlier
Description:
The issue allows for privilege escalation to root via modification of scripts. Low-privilege users can modify files that can be executed by sudo, which enables them to gain elevated access.
Recommendations:
For Nagios Fusion versions 4.1.8 and earlier, update to a version that fixes the incorrect file permissions issue to prevent privilege escalation.
As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the scripts that can be executed by sudo to minimize the risk of exploitation.
