CVE-2020-36149

CVSS v3.1

6.5

Medium

VectorAV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:R/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions: libmysofa versions 0.5 through 1.1
Description: The issue arises from incorrect handling of input data in the changeAttribute function, which can lead to a NULL pointer dereference and result in a segmentation fault error when restrictive memory protection is in place. In environments without memory restrictions, such as embedded systems, this can cause a near NULL pointer overwrite.
Recommendations: For libmysofa versions 0.5 through 1.1, consider disabling the changeAttribute function as a temporary workaround until a patch is available. Restrict access to the changeAttribute function to minimize the risk of exploitation. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
