| Vector | AV:A/AC:H/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H |
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
IBM Spectrum Protect Operations Center versions 7.1 through 8.1
Description
The issue is a denial of service caused by a RPC that allows certain cache values to be set and dumped to a file. By setting a large cache value and dumping it to a file multiple times, a remote attacker could exploit this to consume all memory resources.
Recommendations
For versions 7.1 and 8.1, consider disabling the RPC function that allows cache values to be set and dumped to a file as a temporary workaround until a patch is available. Restrict access to the cache settings to minimize the risk of exploitation. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
