CVSS v3.1
7.8
High
| Vector | AV:L/AC:L/PR:N/UI:R/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H |
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions:
Bosch Configuration Manager versions up to and including 7.21.0078
Description:
The issue allows an attacker to execute arbitrary code on a victim's system by loading a DLL through an uncontrolled search path element in the installer. This can happen if the victim is tricked into placing a malicious DLL in the same directory where the installer is started from.
Recommendations:
For versions up to and including 7.21.0078, ensure that no malicious DLLs are placed in the directory where the installer is run to prevent potential code execution. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting the execution of arbitrary code from untrusted sources until a patch is available.
Fix
Uncontrolled Search Path Element
