CVSS v3.1
7.8
High
| Vector | AV:L/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H |
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions:
Android versions Android-11
Description:
A missing permission check in the onReceive function of DcTracker.java allows for the potential triggering of a provisioning URL and modification of other telephony settings. This could lead to a local escalation of privilege during the onboarding flow, requiring no additional execution privileges. User interaction is not necessary for exploitation.
Recommendations:
For Android version Android-11, consider restricting access to the onReceive function of DcTracker.java until a patch is available. As a temporary workaround, review and limit modifications to telephony settings during the onboarding flow to minimize the risk of exploitation.
