Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions:
Android versions Android-11
Description:
In the
parsePrimaryFieldFirstUidAnnotation function of LogEvent.cpp, there is a possible out of bounds write due to a heap buffer overflow. This could lead to local escalation of privilege with no additional execution privileges needed. User interaction is not needed for exploitation.Recommendations:
For Android version Android-11, update to a version that includes the fix for the issue in
LogEvent.cpp to prevent local escalation of privilege. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to sensitive areas of the system to minimize the risk of exploitation.Fix
Memory Corruption
