| Vector | AV:L/AC:L/Au:N/C:P/I:P/A:P |
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions:
Android versions Android SoC
Description:
In Chromecast bootROM, there is a possible out of bounds write due to an incorrect bounds check. This could lead to local escalation of privilege in the bootloader, with physical USB access, with no additional execution privileges needed. User interaction is not needed for exploitation.
Recommendations:
As a temporary workaround, consider restricting physical USB access to the device until a patch is available.
Restrict access to the bootloader to minimize the risk of exploitation.
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
