CVE-2021-0608

CVSS v2.0

4.6

Medium

VectorAV:L/AC:L/Au:N/C:P/I:P/A:P
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions: Android versions prior to the fixed version
Description: The issue is related to a confused deputy in the handleAppLaunch function of AppLaunchActivity.java, which could allow for arbitrary activity launch. This might lead to local escalation of privilege without requiring additional execution privileges. User interaction is not necessary for exploitation.
Recommendations: For Android versions prior to the fixed version, consider restricting access to sensitive activities to minimize the risk of exploitation. As a temporary workaround, review and limit the use of the handleAppLaunch function in AppLaunchActivity.java until a patch is available.
