Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Android versions Android-12
Description
In the
getDeviceId function of PhoneSubInfoController.java, there is a possible way to determine whether an app is installed without query permissions due to side channel information disclosure. This could lead to local information disclosure with no additional execution privileges needed. User interaction is not needed for exploitation.Recommendations
For Android version Android-12, consider restricting access to the
getDeviceId function in PhoneSubInfoController.java to minimize the risk of exploitation. As a temporary workaround, avoid using the getDeviceId function until a patch is available. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.Side Channel Attack
