Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Android versions prior to the fixed version
Description
The issue concerns a side channel information disclosure in the
startRanging function of RttServiceImpl.java. This could allow an attacker to determine whether an app is installed without requiring query permissions, potentially leading to local information disclosure. No additional execution privileges are needed, and user interaction is not required for exploitation.Recommendations
For Android versions prior to the fixed version, consider restricting access to the
startRanging function of RttServiceImpl.java to minimize the risk of exploitation. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this issue.Fix
