Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Android versions Android-12
Description
The issue is related to a missing permission check in the
getLine1NumberForDisplay function of PhoneInterfaceManager.java. This could allow an app to determine whether another app is installed without requiring query permissions, potentially leading to local information disclosure. No additional execution privileges are needed, and user interaction is not required for exploitation.Recommendations
For Android version Android-12, consider restricting access to the
getLine1NumberForDisplay function of PhoneInterfaceManager.java to minimize the risk of exploitation. As a temporary workaround, review and adjust permission settings to limit unnecessary access to app installation information. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.Missing Authorization
