Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions:
D-Link DIR-2640 versions less than or equal to 1.11B02
Description:
The issue allows a remote attacker to gain administrative access to the zebra or ripd services, which are running with root privileges on the router. This is due to the use of default hard-coded credentials in Quagga Services. The attacker can access these services as the "admin" user with UID 0.
Recommendations:
For D-Link DIR-2640 versions less than or equal to 1.11B02, consider changing the default credentials for the zebra and ripd services to prevent unauthorized access. As a temporary workaround, restrict access to these services until a patch is available. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
