| Vector | AV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H |
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions:
MongoDB Server versions prior to 4.0.27
MongoDB Server versions prior to 4.2.16
MongoDB Server versions prior to 4.4.9
Description:
An attacker with basic CRUD permissions on a replicated collection can run the applyOps command with specially malformed oplog entries, resulting in a potential denial of service on secondaries.
Recommendations:
For MongoDB Server versions prior to 4.0.27, update to version 4.0.27 or later.
For MongoDB Server versions prior to 4.2.16, update to version 4.2.16 or later.
For MongoDB Server versions prior to 4.4.9, update to version 4.4.9 or later.
As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the applyOps command for users with basic CRUD permissions on replicated collections.
