CVSS v2.0
7.8
High
| Vector | AV:N/AC:L/Au:N/C:C/I:N/A:N |
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions:
IBM WebSphere Application Server versions 8.0, 8.5, and 9.0
Description:
The issue allows a remote attacker to traverse directories by sending a specially-crafted URL request containing "dot dot" sequences (/../) to view arbitrary files on the system.
Recommendations:
For IBM WebSphere Application Server versions 8.0, 8.5, and 9.0, consider restricting access to sensitive files and directories to minimize the risk of exploitation until a patch is available.
As a temporary workaround, consider disabling the directory traversal functionality until a patch is available.
Avoid using URL requests that contain "dot dot" sequences (/../) in the affected API endpoint until the issue is resolved.
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
