CVSS v3.1

9.8

Critical

VectorAV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions kill-process-by-name versions all
Description The issue allows an attacker to execute arbitrary commands if attacker-controlled user input is given. This is due to the use of the child process exec function without input sanitization in the index.js file.
Recommendations For all versions, consider disabling the use of the child process exec function in the index.js file until a patch is available. Restrict access to the index.js file to minimize the risk of exploitation. Avoid using unsanitized user input in the affected function to prevent arbitrary command execution. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
