CVE-2021-24556

CVSS v3.1

6.1

Medium

VectorAV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:R/S:C/C:L/I:L/A:N
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Email Subscriber WordPress plugin versions 1.1 and earlier
Description The kento email subscriber ajax AJAX action does not properly sanitise, validate, and escape the submitted subscribe email and subscribe name POST parameters. These parameters are inserted into the database and then outputted back in the Subscriber list at the "/wp-admin/edit.php?post type=kes campaign&page=kento email subscriber list settings" endpoint, leading to a Stored XSS issue.
Recommendations For Email Subscriber WordPress plugin versions 1.1 and earlier, consider disabling the kento email subscriber ajax AJAX action until a patch is available. Restrict access to the Subscriber list page to minimize the risk of exploitation. Avoid using the subscribe email and subscribe name parameters in the affected AJAX endpoint until the issue is resolved. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
