Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
OpenCRX versions v4.0.0 through v5.1.0
Description
The issue is related to reflected Cross-site Scripting (XSS) due to unsanitized parameters in the password reset functionality, allowing the execution of external javascript files on any user of the OpenCRX instance.
Recommendations
For OpenCRX versions v4.0.0 through v5.1.0, consider disabling the password reset functionality until a patch is available to prevent exploitation of the reflected Cross-site Scripting (XSS) issue. Restrict access to the password reset module to minimize the risk of external javascript file execution. Avoid using unsanitized parameters in the password reset functionality to prevent XSS attacks. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
