CVE-2021-27208
CVSS v2.0
4.6
Medium
| Vector | AV:L/AC:L/Au:N/C:P/I:P/A:P |
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions:
Zynq-7000 SOC device (affected versions not specified)
Description:
The issue arises when booting a Zynq-7000 SOC device from nand flash memory. The nand driver in the ROM fails to validate inputs when reading parameters from the nand's parameter page. If a field read from the parameter page is too large, it causes a buffer overflow, potentially leading to arbitrary code execution. This attack requires physical access and modification of the board assembly to replace the original NAND flash memory with a NAND flash emulation device.
Recommendations:
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
