8.8

High

VectorAV:A/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions: NETGEAR R7800 version 1.0.2.76
Description: This issue allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code on affected installations. Authentication is not required to exploit this issue. The specific flaw exists within the "refresh status.aspx" endpoint. The issue results from a lack of authentication required to start a service on the server. An attacker can leverage this issue to execute code in the context of root.
Recommendations: For NETGEAR R7800 version 1.0.2.76, as a temporary workaround, consider disabling access to the "refresh status.aspx" endpoint until a patch is available. Restrict access to the server to minimize the risk of exploitation. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this issue.
