CVE-2021-27273

CVSS v2.0

9.0

High

VectorAV:N/AC:L/Au:S/C:C/I:C/A:C
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions NETGEAR ProSAFE Network Management System version 1.6.0.26
Description This issue allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code on affected installations. Although authentication is required to exploit this issue, the existing authentication mechanism can be bypassed. The specific flaw exists within the SettingConfigController class, specifically when parsing the fileName parameter, which does not properly validate a user-supplied string before using it to execute a system call. An attacker can leverage this issue to execute code in the context of SYSTEM.
Recommendations For NETGEAR ProSAFE Network Management System version 1.6.0.26, consider disabling the SettingConfigController class or restricting access to it until a patch is available. Avoid using the fileName parameter in the affected API endpoint until the issue is resolved. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this issue.
