CVE-2021-2065

CVSS v2.0

6.8

Medium

VectorAV:N/AC:L/Au:S/C:N/I:N/A:C
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions MySQL Server versions 8.0.22 and prior
Description The issue is related to insufficient access control in the MySQL Server component, specifically in the Optimizer subsystem. This can be exploited by a remote attacker to cause a denial of service via the MySQL network protocol. Successful attacks can result in the ability to cause a hang or frequently repeatable crash of the MySQL Server.
Recommendations For versions 8.0.22 and prior, consider restricting network access to the MySQL Server until a patch is available. As a temporary workaround, limiting the privileges of high-privileged attackers may help minimize the risk of exploitation. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
