CVE-2021-29527

CVSS v3.1

5.5

Medium

VectorAV:L/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions: TensorFlow versions prior to 2.5.0 TensorFlow versions 2.4.2 and earlier TensorFlow versions 2.3.3 and earlier TensorFlow versions 2.2.3 and earlier TensorFlow versions 2.1.4 and earlier
Description: An attacker can trigger a division by 0 in tf.raw ops.QuantizedConv2D. This is because the implementation does a division by a quantity that is controlled by the caller. The issue arises from the calculation of patches per chunk, which is based on filter value count and can be manipulated by the caller.
Recommendations: For TensorFlow versions prior to 2.5.0, update to version 2.5.0 or later. For TensorFlow versions 2.4.2 and earlier, update to version 2.4.2 or later. For TensorFlow versions 2.3.3 and earlier, update to version 2.3.3 or later. For TensorFlow versions 2.2.3 and earlier, update to version 2.2.3 or later. For TensorFlow versions 2.1.4 and earlier, update to version 2.1.4 or later. As a temporary workaround, consider avoiding the use of tf.raw ops.QuantizedConv2D until a patch is available.
