CVSS v3.1

7.8

High

VectorAV:L/AC:L/PR:N/UI:R/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Foxit Reader version 10.1.1.37576
Description This issue allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code on affected installations. User interaction is required, where the target must visit a malicious page or open a malicious file. The flaw exists within the handling of the Decimal element, specifically through a crafted leadDigits value that can trigger an overflow of a fixed-length heap-based buffer. This can be leveraged to execute arbitrary code in the context of the current process.
Recommendations For Foxit Reader version 10.1.1.37576, consider disabling the handling of Decimal elements or restricting access to potentially malicious files and web pages until a patch is available. Avoid using crafted leadDigits values in Decimal elements to minimize the risk of exploitation. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
