Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Vector 35 Binary Ninja version 2.3.2660
Description
This issue allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code on affected installations. User interaction is required, where the target must visit a malicious page or open a malicious file. The flaw exists within the parsing of BNDB files due to the lack of proper validation of user-supplied data, resulting in a read past the end of an allocated data structure. An attacker can leverage this to execute code in the context of the current process.
Recommendations
For Vector 35 Binary Ninja version 2.3.2660, as a temporary workaround, consider disabling the BNDB file parsing functionality until a patch is available. Restrict access to BNDB files to minimize the risk of exploitation. Avoid using user-supplied data in the affected BNDB file parsing functionality until the issue is resolved. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
