CVSS v3.1

8.8

High

VectorAV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:R/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions: TeamViewer version 15.16.8.0
Description: This issue allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code on affected installations. User interaction is required, where the target must visit a malicious page or open a malicious file. The flaw exists within the parsing of TVS files due to the lack of proper validation of user-supplied data, resulting in a memory corruption condition. An attacker can leverage this to execute code in the context of the current process.
Recommendations: For TeamViewer version 15.16.8.0, consider disabling the TVS file parsing functionality until a patch is available. Restrict access to TVS files to minimize the risk of exploitation. Avoid opening malicious files or visiting suspicious pages to prevent potential attacks. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
