Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions:
TeamViewer version 15.16.8.0
Description:
This issue allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code on affected installations. User interaction is required, where the target must visit a malicious page or open a malicious file. The flaw exists within the parsing of TVS files due to the lack of proper validation of user-supplied data, resulting in a memory corruption condition. An attacker can leverage this to execute code in the context of the current process.
Recommendations:
For TeamViewer version 15.16.8.0, consider disabling the TVS file parsing functionality until a patch is available. Restrict access to TVS files to minimize the risk of exploitation.
