CVE-2021-34882

CVSS v2.0

4.3

Medium

VectorAV:N/AC:M/Au:N/C:P/I:N/A:N
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions: Bentley View version 10.15.0.75
Description: This issue allows remote attackers to disclose sensitive information on affected installations. User interaction is required, where the target must visit a malicious page or open a malicious file. The flaw exists within the parsing of JP2 files due to the lack of proper validation of user-supplied data, resulting in a read past the end of an allocated buffer. An attacker can leverage this, in conjunction with other issues, to execute arbitrary code in the context of the current process.
Recommendations: For version 10.15.0.75, consider disabling the JP2 file parsing functionality until a patch is available to prevent exploitation. Restrict access to malicious pages or files to minimize the risk of sensitive information disclosure. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this issue.
