CVE-2021-34883

CVSS v2.0

4.3

Medium

VectorAV:N/AC:M/Au:N/C:P/I:N/A:N
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions: Bentley View version 10.15.0.75
Description: This issue allows remote attackers to disclose sensitive information. It requires user interaction, where the target must visit a malicious page or open a malicious file. The flaw exists within the parsing of J2K files due to the lack of proper validation of user-supplied data, resulting in a read past the end of an allocated buffer. This can be leveraged to execute arbitrary code in the context of the current process.
Recommendations: For Bentley View version 10.15.0.75, consider restricting the parsing of J2K files until a patch is available. As a temporary workaround, avoid opening suspicious files or visiting untrusted websites to minimize the risk of exploitation. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
