Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions:
Bentley View version 10.15.0.75
Description:
This issue allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code on affected installations. User interaction is required, where the target must visit a malicious page or open a malicious file. The flaw exists within the parsing of JT files due to the lack of proper validation of user-supplied data, resulting in a memory corruption condition. An attacker can leverage this to execute code in the context of the current process.
Recommendations:
For Bentley View version 10.15.0.75, as a temporary workaround, consider disabling the parsing of JT files until a patch is available. Restrict access to files that could be used to exploit this vulnerability to minimize the risk of exploitation. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
