CVE-2021-36983

CVSS v3.1

7.8

High

VectorAV:L/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Replay Sorcery version 0.6.0
Description The issue allows a local attacker to gain root privileges via a symlink attack on /tmp/replay-sorcery or /tmp/replay-sorcery/device.sock. This enables the attacker to potentially exploit the system.
Recommendations For Replay Sorcery version 0.6.0, consider restricting access to the /tmp/replay-sorcery and /tmp/replay-sorcery/device.sock files to prevent symlink attacks until a patch is available. As a temporary workaround, avoid using the replay-sorcery-kms component in Replay Sorcery to minimize the risk of exploitation. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
