Description
The issue is related to a Use After Free vulnerability that allows an unauthenticated attacker to achieve arbitrary code execution in the context of the current user. Exploitation requires user interaction, where a victim must open a malicious file. This vulnerability is associated with the use of memory after it has been freed, allowing for remote execution of arbitrary code in the context of the current user using a specially crafted PDF file.
Recommendations
For versions 2020.013.20074 and earlier, update to a version later than 2020.013.20074 to resolve the issue.
For versions 2020.001.30018 and earlier, update to a version later than 2020.001.30018 to resolve the issue.
For versions 2017.011.30188 and earlier, update to a version later than 2017.011.30188 to resolve the issue.
As a temporary workaround, consider avoiding the use of Adobe Reader DC to open PDF files from untrusted sources until a patch is available.
