High

VectorAV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:R/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Adobe Acrobat Reader DC versions 2020.013.20074 and earlier Adobe Acrobat Reader DC versions 2020.001.30018 and earlier Adobe Acrobat Reader DC versions 2017.011.30188 and earlier
Description The issue is related to a Use After Free vulnerability, which allows an unauthenticated attacker to achieve arbitrary code execution in the context of the current user. Exploitation of this issue requires user interaction, where a victim must open a malicious file. This can be done using a specially crafted PDF file.
Recommendations For Adobe Acrobat Reader DC versions 2020.013.20074 and earlier, update to a version later than 2020.013.20074 to resolve the issue. For Adobe Acrobat Reader DC versions 2020.001.30018 and earlier, update to a version later than 2020.001.30018 to resolve the issue. For Adobe Acrobat Reader DC versions 2017.011.30188 and earlier, update to a version later than 2017.011.30188 to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider avoiding the use of the Annotation setProps Method until a patch is available. Restrict access to malicious PDF files to minimize the risk of exploitation.
