Description The issue is related to an out-of-bounds write vulnerability when parsing a crafted jpeg file, allowing an unauthenticated attacker to achieve arbitrary code execution in the context of the current user. Exploitation requires user interaction, where a victim must open a malicious file. This vulnerability affects Adobe Acrobat and Reader, enabling attackers to execute arbitrary code.
Recommendations For Acrobat Reader DC versions 2020.013.20074 and earlier, update to a version later than 2020.013.20074 to resolve the issue. For Acrobat Reader DC versions 2020.001.30018 and earlier, update to a version later than 2020.001.30018 to resolve the issue. For Acrobat Reader DC versions 2017.011.30188 and earlier, update to a version later than 2017.011.30188 to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider avoiding the use of crafted jpeg files in Adobe Acrobat and Reader until a patch is available.
