Description
The issue is related to an out-of-bounds read vulnerability that could lead to arbitrary disclosure of information in the memory stack. An attacker could leverage this vulnerability to bypass mitigations such as ASLR and escalate privileges in the context of the current user. Exploitation of this issue requires user interaction, where a victim must open a malicious file.
Recommendations
For Adobe Acrobat Reader DC versions 2020.013.20074 and earlier, update to a version later than 2020.013.20074 to resolve the issue.
For Adobe Acrobat Reader DC versions 2020.001.30018 and earlier, update to a version later than 2020.001.30018 to resolve the issue.
For Adobe Acrobat Reader DC versions 2017.011.30188 and earlier, update to a version later than 2017.011.30188 to resolve the issue.
As a temporary workaround, consider avoiding the use of Adobe Acrobat Reader DC to open files from untrusted sources until a patch is available.
