Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions:
Acclaim USAHERDS versions 7.4.0.1 and earlier
Description:
The issue concerns the use of hard-coded credentials in Acclaim USAHERDS, allowing attackers to bypass authentication and gain unauthorized access to sensitive systems and data. This flaw enables attackers to execute arbitrary code on affected servers. The vulnerability has been actively exploited and is classified as an authentication bypass vulnerability. Knowledge of the ValidationKey and DecryptionKey can be used to achieve Remote Code Execution on the system that runs the application.
Recommendations:
For Acclaim USAHERDS versions 7.4.0.1 and earlier, update to a version that does not use hard-coded credentials to mitigate the risk of exploitation. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to sensitive systems and data until a patch is available. Avoid using the affected application until the issue is resolved. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
