Description
The issue is related to insufficient input validation in the Gateway component of Oracle Secure Global Desktop, allowing an unauthenticated attacker with network access via multiple protocols, including HTTP, to compromise the application and potentially gain full control. This could significantly impact additional products, and successful attacks may result in the takeover of Oracle Secure Global Desktop.
Recommendations
For version 5.6, update to a version that includes the fix for this issue to prevent exploitation.
As a temporary workaround, consider restricting network access to the Gateway component until a patch is available.
Avoid using the vulnerable Gateway component in the Oracle Secure Global Desktop application until the issue is resolved.
