Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Linux Kernel versions prior to v5.12.11
Description
A potential issue exists in the Linux Kernel related to the Type-C TCPM (TCPC) protocol. The problem arises when the TCPM port is unregistered, and the VDM (Vendor Defined Message) and state machine hrtimer are not properly canceled. This could potentially lead to security vulnerabilities, although the actual impact and attack plausibility have not yet been proven.
Recommendations
For Linux Kernel versions prior to v5.12.11, update to version v5.12.11 or later to resolve the issue.
