Description The issue is related to a Privilege Escalation vulnerability during installation, allowing an unauthenticated attacker to achieve arbitrary file system write in the context of the current user. This is due to the creation of temporary files with insecure permissions. Exploitation requires user interaction, where a victim must open a malicious file, potentially enabling a remote attacker to elevate privileges and execute arbitrary writes to the file system.
Recommendations For Adobe Digital Editions versions 4.5.11.187245 and earlier, update to a version that addresses this issue to prevent exploitation. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
