Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
PeopleSoft Enterprise PeopleTools versions 8.56 through 8.58
Description
The issue is related to insufficient input validation in the Multichannel Framework component of Oracle PeopleSoft Enterprise PeopleTools. This can allow a remote attacker to gain unauthorized access to protected information or modify, add, or delete data using the HTTP protocol. Successful attacks require human interaction from a person other than the attacker and may significantly impact additional products, resulting in unauthorized update, insert, or delete access to some accessible data, as well as unauthorized read access to a subset of accessible data.
Recommendations
For versions 8.56 through 8.58, consider restricting access to the Multichannel Framework component until a patch is available.
As a temporary workaround, limit the use of HTTP protocol for sensitive operations to minimize the risk of exploitation.
Avoid using the vulnerable component for critical data transactions until the issue is resolved.
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
