CVE-2021-2217

CVSS v3.1

7.2

High

VectorAV:N/AC:L/PR:H/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Oracle MySQL Server versions 8.0.23 and prior
Description The issue is related to insufficient input validation in the Server: Stored Procedure component of the Oracle MySQL Server. This can be exploited by a remote attacker to cause a denial of service via the MySQL network protocol. Successful attacks can result in the ability to cause a hang or frequently repeatable crash of the MySQL Server.
Recommendations For versions 8.0.23 and prior, update to a version that includes the fix for this issue to prevent exploitation. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting network access to the MySQL Server to minimize the risk of exploitation. Avoid using the vulnerable Server: Stored Procedure component until the issue is resolved.
