Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Cisco Small Business 100, 300, and 500 Series Wireless Access Points (affected versions not specified)
Description
The issue is related to improper validation of user-supplied input in the web-based management interface, allowing an authenticated, remote attacker to perform command injection attacks. An attacker could exploit this by sending crafted HTTP requests to the interface, potentially executing arbitrary commands with root privileges. The attacker must have valid administrative credentials for the device.
Recommendations
To resolve the issue, update the device to a version that includes the fix for the improper validation of user-supplied input.
As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the web-based management interface to minimize the risk of exploitation.
Avoid using the web-based management interface until the issue is resolved.
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
