Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Cisco Small Business 100, 300, and 500 Series Wireless Access Points (affected versions not specified)
Description
The issue is related to improper validation of user-supplied input in the web-based management interface, allowing an authenticated, remote attacker to perform command injection attacks. An attacker could exploit this by sending crafted HTTP requests to the interface, potentially executing arbitrary commands with root privileges. The attacker must have valid administrative credentials for the device.
Recommendations
For all affected versions, to mitigate the risk, consider restricting access to the web-based management interface until a fix is available. As a temporary workaround, limit the use of administrative credentials to minimize the risk of exploitation. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
