Description
The issue allows an unauthenticated attacker with network access via multiple protocols to compromise Java SE, Oracle GraalVM Enterprise Edition. Successful attacks require human interaction from a person other than the attacker and can result in the takeover of Java SE, Oracle GraalVM Enterprise Edition. This issue applies to Java deployments that load and run untrusted code, such as sandboxed Java Web Start applications or sandboxed Java applets, and rely on the Java sandbox for security.
Recommendations
For Java SE versions 8u291, 11.0.11, 16.0.1, update to a version that contains a fix for this issue.
For Oracle GraalVM Enterprise Edition versions 20.3.2, 21.1.0, update to a version that contains a fix for this issue.
As a temporary workaround, consider restricting the execution of untrusted code in sandboxed environments until a patch is available.
Avoid using the Java sandbox to run untrusted code from the internet until the issue is resolved.
