VectorAV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:N/A:N
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions FortiMail versions prior to 7.0.0
Description The issue is related to a missing cryptographic step in the Identity-Based Encryption service of FortiMail, which may allow an unauthenticated attacker who intercepts encrypted messages to manipulate them, making tampering and recovery of plaintexts possible. This could enable a remote attacker to gain unauthorized access to protected information.
Recommendations For versions prior to 7.0.0, update to version 7.0.0 or later to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the Identity-Based Encryption service until a patch is available.
