CVE-2021-38199

CVSS v3.1

6.5

Medium

VectorAV:A/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Linux kernel versions prior to 5.13.4
Description The issue is related to incorrect connection-setup ordering in the Linux kernel, specifically in the fs/nfs/nfs4client.c file. This allows operators of remote NFSv4 servers to cause a denial of service by making those servers unreachable during trunking detection, resulting in hanging mounts.
Recommendations For versions prior to 5.13.4, update to version 5.13.4 or later to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to remote NFSv4 servers to minimize the risk of exploitation.
