Description
The issue is related to the GitLab platform ignoring a query parameter when working through the API, which can lead to a denial of service. When querying repository branches through the API, GitLab was ignoring a query parameter and returning a considerable amount of results.
Recommendations
For versions 13.2 and later, consider restricting access to the API endpoint related to repository branches to minimize the risk of exploitation. As a temporary workaround, avoid using the affected API endpoint until the issue is resolved. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
