VectorAV:L/AC:L/PR:N/UI:R/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Delta Electronic DOPSoft 2 versions 2.00.07 and prior
Description The issue is related to a heap-based buffer overflow in DOPSoft, which is used for programming Delta Electronics DOP-100 series operator panels. This occurs due to improper validation of user-supplied data when parsing specific project files. An attacker could exploit this to execute arbitrary code in the context of the current process.
Recommendations For Delta Electronic DOPSoft 2 versions 2.00.07 and prior, update to a version that properly validates user-supplied data to prevent the heap-based buffer overflow. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting the parsing of specific project files until a patch is available.
