CVE-2021-30633
CVSS v2.0
10
Critical
| Vector | AV:N/AC:L/Au:N/C:C/I:C/A:C |
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Google Chrome versions prior to 93.0.4577.82
Description
The issue is related to a use after free in the Indexed DB API, which could allow a remote attacker who has compromised the renderer process to potentially perform a sandbox escape via a crafted HTML page. This could result in the execution of arbitrary code. The vulnerability is associated with the use of memory after it has been freed, which can lead to a denial of service or code execution with the help of a specially crafted web page.
Recommendations
For Google Chrome versions prior to 93.0.4577.82, update to version 93.0.4577.82 or later to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the Indexed DB API until a patch is applied. Avoid using the Indexed DB API in affected versions of Google Chrome to minimize the risk of exploitation.
