| Vector | AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:R/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H |
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Google Chrome versions prior to 93.0.4577.63
Description
The issue is related to a heap buffer overflow in the TabStrip function of Google Chrome, which can be exploited by a remote attacker to cause buffer overflow. This can potentially allow an attacker, who has convinced a user to install a malicious extension, to exploit heap corruption via a crafted HTML page.
Recommendations
For Google Chrome versions prior to 93.0.4577.63, update to version 93.0.4577.63 or later to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting the installation of extensions to minimize the risk of exploitation. Avoid using crafted HTML pages that could trigger the heap buffer overflow in the TabStrip function until the issue is resolved.
