Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Google Chrome versions prior to 92.0.4515.131
Description
The issue is related to an out of bounds read in the Tab Strip component of Google Chrome, which can be exploited by an attacker who convinces a user to install a malicious extension. This can lead to an out of bounds memory read via a crafted HTML page, potentially allowing the attacker to access confidential data or cause a denial of service.
Recommendations
For versions prior to 92.0.4515.131, update to version 92.0.4515.131 or later to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting the installation of extensions to trusted sources and avoiding the use of crafted HTML pages.
