CVE-2021-35632

CVSS v2.0

4.6

Medium

VectorAV:L/AC:L/Au:S/C:N/I:N/A:C
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions MySQL Server versions 8.0.26 and prior
Description The issue is related to insufficient input validation in the MySQL Server component, specifically the Data Dictionary. This can be exploited by a high-privileged attacker with logon to the infrastructure where MySQL Server executes, allowing them to compromise MySQL Server. Successful attacks can result in the ability to cause a hang or frequently repeatable crash (complete DOS) of MySQL Server.
Recommendations For MySQL Server versions 8.0.26 and prior, update to a version later than 8.0.26 to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the Data Dictionary component to minimize the risk of exploitation. Additionally, ensure that only authorized and trusted users have logon access to the infrastructure where MySQL Server executes.
